what do these wires go to

i took out ny console today and taped to my cig lighter wires is another set of wires. the set ir a 6 pin harness with 5 pins being used. the wires on the back side are mostly brown and black (i belive ) and the same with whitee stripes. what was this used for

btw i have a 97 ta

Not sure about the 6 prong connector, maybe for automatic, if you have a manual. I know in my car there is a coiled up set of wires, which is the aditional power connector mentioned in the owners manual for the knock out in the console. Not that it helps you out much. I'll have to see if i have the same thing in my car.

i got a 6 speed and it is coiled up and taped to another wire

could also be for the convertible top switch. The wires going to my switch are the colors you mentioned......

Sounds like the switch for the convertible top.

iss there a way i could use them to my advantage since i dont have a convertable. like a switch for something else were would the other end be

I suppose you could tap power and ground from them if you really wanted to. Not sure which colors you would use though.
