what to do first
The stock tune has a way-too-rich 11.7:1 target A/F ratio in power enrichment (PE) mode. Anyone can net an easy 10-15HP on a stock setup simply by leaning out the PE mode tables. The mail order tuners who post here guarantee the gains.
Do the roller rockers first, then the tune. No sense in tuning twice, just like what the others have said. Plus you said your on xmas break, that gives you plenty of time to do the rockers in case you have trouble. A tune you could easily do anytime you want.
couple quick things 1) do i need to get new hardened pushrods (111,xxx miles) and two are there any springs that would work for me that are somewhere inbetween the lt4 and 918's. i will most likely upgrade to a hotcam but i might decide to go a little bigger.
Sorry this is all I have to offer, but it really seems like you need to save up before you ask about cams also. And when you think you have enough, save up another 50%. You going to be shocked what it cost to do just a cam change with the "right" parts and just a mail order tune. If you can't do it the correct way, don't do it. And even then something can go wrong and leave you without a car and or a very large repair bill.

just throwing that out there as a future goal so that i get the right parts now.
i have absolutely no intention of touching a cam for over a year. right now it's strictly rr's and springs. If when i get all the parts for this install i dont have the cash on hand to install i can wait since that's the most expensive part of all this.
Back on topic now, what springs would i need for this cam or one with similar numbers? my budget is about $500 for this, i got the rr's for 100 so 400 left for install and springs. if yall dont think i can have a set up that would handle the 305 or similar tell me.
