Arrow What is the difference in the way the car will re-act between these two?

how does a car react if it had a spun bearing or a bad lifter? For instance.... What noises do each of these two have? Trying to see if I have a spun bearing or a bad lifter? Whats the difference in how the car would be or re-act?

Thanks
Mike

Give it a bit of time before you bump. Best I can tell that was only 45 min, and this is kinda an odd question that you might have to wait for the right person (someone who has heard the two sounds) to answer.

Sorry that I can't help, but I've heard neither of these problems in person.

Car was running fine. I had heard an easy way to till if it is a bearing.. is that if you are on the gas and let off the gas... you will here it clacking... any truth to this? Cause thats what I heard when I was on the gas and let off of it. If it was a lifter, wouldn't I have a miss to it? So far, we have pulled one main and one rod bearing and they were fine, so should we go ahead and pull all of the remainder? T he noise is coming from the passenger side of the car and we were thinking it was one the first two on that side. Crank looks great though, no marks at all. We drained the oil and no metal in the oil. Allthough, there was a red rubber grounment and a bolt on my oil pan. What could that of came from?

My parts car Blazer has a spun bearing and its more of a clanking not a tick. And when you rev it up and then let off, I could hear it like clonk clonk clonk ... It ran pretty bad too. Try using a stethoscope and see if you can pinpoint closer to where the sound is from. The bolt is something id worry about, you need to find where it came from and fix the problem asap
