Should I install an H-Pipe?
Recently I had my Jet-Hot Long Tubes installed on my car. And I had them weld up my true duals. Its a real basic and cheap setup, I didnt want anything pretty or special.
The car runs great, and has shown some great improvements as far as power goes. But Im thinking of runing an H-Pipe. I noticed you can get a universal one from jegs. The reason Im thinking of doing it is because when I decelerate and coming to a stop, the exhaust makes a quiet rapid raspy sound with the rpms. Which is normal because of the system is free flowing as is true dual.
But I heard that when you install an Hpipe the sound will go away because it balances out the exhaust. But my buddy thinks that the reason it does it is because im running no cats, and the car is running rich like most stock lt1's do from the factory. So my question is..... Should I do the H-Pipe, will it get rid of noise, and will it be worth it. The only issue I have is I cant really move the exhaust back any further because my bullet mufflers will hit the floorboards then. Would it be bad If I had them install the H pipe after the bullet mufflers? Or is the car just doing this beacuse its running rich?
Here are some pics of the current setup. I dont want to run an x-pipe. I have 2 friends who did, and it doesnt sound as loud. And I love the way mine sounds now, it sounds bad ***.
