What did you do to fix your STUBBORN exhaust leak???

I have one BOTH sides and I have had them there since I installed these POS headers... I am using felpro 1406 with a light layer of ultra copper on both sides. I'm thinking of using percy's dead soft aluminum as I have tried many "tricks" to get them to seal and those gaskets don't want to do it. Anybody have suggestions??

i use the steel embossed manifold gaskets, if a bolt comes loose, which it does often, you tighten it up and go on your way. No more blown header gaskets. Hope this helps, prorac1

Mr. Gasket embossed copper manifold gaskets. the rear bolt on the passenger side kept backing out, tighten it up, it'd seal till it loosened up again. Finally was able to get the bolt tight enough not to back out.

Those are the ones I was thinking of picking up... do I need to clean the surface of the head/header? Last time I had to replace the gaskets I inspected the surface and from what I saw there was no debris on either surface. I'm going to slap these coppers in and see how they do. Should I use RTV on them or just put them in as is?? I'm thinking as is right?

I use Earl's performance header gaskets and have never had a leak. I even had three bolts come out of the driver side header and had no leaks. I'm sold. Call Summit. They have them in stock. The part number is EAR-29DA3B. Cost is $44.44 with shipping. Good luck

Think of them as polylocks for your headers.

This is the only link I found with a decent picture, but you can probably find them at your local hot rod shop.

I had those before and I could not even get them lined up without the center soft metal coming out and they were very flimsy. They do not have hooked ends either...

POS headers? Do you want a fix for the problem, or a 'band-aid'? If the problem are the headers, straighten or repair them.

There's nothing wrong with the headers, they are POS because they are known for having sealing trouble and because they **** me off...

Remember I am from CA. If I knew at the time I got my headers that my car would be supercharged and cammed with a big *** cam I would have just got long tubes but that will have to wait now.

I'm ordering Percy's dead-soft aluminum gaskets AND ARP 1" 12 pt. bolts
