Re: What causes the PCM to shutoff fuel after startup?

Ok, well I thank you for your time.

Ok it does have fuel pressure after it dies, my guage is reading about 40 psi.

Yes the jumper wire is working, maybe I wasn't hearing the pump the first time over the battery charger.

I don't think I assumed anything at this point. I've been trying to get it started for the past 3 days.

I was able to get any voltage out of the grey wire at the pump connector. Was getting 3.30 volts at the purple wire. This was with Key-On.

I didn't have an extra body to help me measure while it was running.

BTW, it won't even run now

The purple wire voltage will vary with level since it is the fuel gage. Means nothing either way. The voltage on the grey wire as measured to the black wire should be 12 volts. when the KOEO for 2 seconds. Then it goes to 0 if the engine is not cranked. Once the engine starts cranking, the voltage should go back up to 12 volts. So with regard to that, what are you seeing?

Where can I find the cheapest Opti?

Hopefully this will cure my problems. Got the old one off, but don't see anything wrong with it. No play in the shaft at all.

I found an autoparts store nearby that is selling the cap and rotor fr $120, but I want the whole assembly.

Jason Cromer?

Did you pull the cap off to see what the inside of the cap or the rotor looks like?

I wish I could, I don't have an inverted torx that small....

If I need an opti, I got one from a friend for $100

Do yourself a favor if the one your friend has is used. Take the cap off and look for corrosion or carbon tracking inside the cap. Be sure to feel the bearing in its rotation to see if it's growling also.

i know this is a old thread but all that was wrong was your ignition coil? is that like a Msd or the wire itself that was replaced
