What catalytic converter goes on a 97 LT1?
What catalytic converter goes on a 97 LT1?
I see everyone mentioning that ebay has high flow cats for under $50 bucks, but I can't find those. The cat located on the passenger side of my car is bad.
Is this one the right one?

It is a 3" OBD2 MAGNAFLOW HIGH FLOW CATALYTIC CONVERTER for $59.50.
Would I need two of these?
Also, if a catback is in the immediate future, (funds are lacking at the moment), should I do something different with the cats while I'm having to change them? I know about the randow tech cats, but the price is too high. My exhaust if completely stock right now.

If you are replacing a stock piece, i think it's 2" or maybe 2.5"...i forget. I got a set of cats off of ebay from performance curve ...

If only the passenger side one is bad...you will only need to repplace that one...however welding will be required. Migh be worht it to see if someone is selling a used dual cat y-pipe in the for sale section.

The 96 and up have a dual cat y-pipe setup. the left side cat is right at the manifold connection and the right is down by the right floor. You probably don't have room to play with this at all. If you're thinking about headers at some point just save your cash and get headers and catted y-pipe or convert back to single cat.
