Re: What car do I have?

95 z28's have the single cat, unless it was a california car(i think!). they also have obd1 computer, which the 96 and above have the obd2 computer, you can tell by looking under the passenger side rocker panel, you should see the 1 cat right there

All 1995 california automatic equipped f bodies had dual cats and OBD2. Otherwise, it is OBD1 single cat.

Not true - ALL 1995s are OBDI regardless of the number of cats. However, they do have an OBDII style connctor.

Re: What car do I have?

1. Look at your "build tag". "YF5" is the code for CA emissions.

2. Look at your exhaust system. A dual-cat car will have a small cylindrical cat bolted directly to the bottom of the drivers side exhaust manifold, and a second cat in the branch of the "Y" coming from the passenger side manifold, but its flat and located under the hump in the passenger footwell. Then the pipes "Y" together. If you have a single cat car, there will be no cat under the drivers side manifold, the pipes will "Y" together in front of the single cat, also mounted under the passenger footwell hump.

ALL 1995 F-Bodys have an OBD-I PCM, and a 16-pin OBD-II "style" ALDL connector.

2. Look at your exhaust system.
It's always good to get under there and get acquainted first-hand anyway.

Some of us live in apartment complexes where they won't let you work on your car in the lot. Mine won't let me do anything that isn't under the hood only and short in time. I took a lot of heat when I changed my TB out. It also hurts I live next door to my property manager. Which is one reason I'm glad I found this board so I can have questions answered with out the threat of being evicted for violating lease terms. BTW most apartments in this area use a standard lease for that the state drew up for them to use.
