Better connecting Rods
4 bolt spayed mains
roller rockers and stiffer valve springs, guideplates, and hardened pushrods.

That's what I'd do

stiffer valve springs and good pushrods would be the most important....you will need a high reving cam to actually make power up there tho...

Few hundred, but your not going to see much power up there.

A lot of the cammed guys are spinning there stock bottom ends real high, close to 7000, but I dont think u need to do that to make power.

With the mods in my sig my car pulls past the factory RPM limiter. On the dyno, max HP is right about the time I hit the rev limiter. If/when I get the ECM re-tuned, I will see much better response and HP/Torque just becuase I will be able to rev it higher. It revs very smooth and FAST. I just installed the Alum. flywheel, so that will also improve the way it revs.

I wanted to know so I will know at what rpm i can go through the traps at which would determine what rear gears I would be putting in.

Your car's an m-6... Put in 4.10's No need to raise the revs of the engine for the gears, gear for the engine.

well 4.10s will damn sure get you started on that journey...i also vote 4.10s.....add some long tubes, some suspension and a lil nitrous, you're good to go.

You can't estimate what rear you will need until you know how much hp you will be making and the rpm for the power peak (and how fast it falls off after the peak). You also need to consider tire size. For example, with a 26" tire and 4.10 gears, 6,000rpm is ~113mph in 4th gear. Go to a 28" tire and the same rpm will take you to ~121mph. OTOH, using 7,000rpm and 4.10's gets you 132 and 142mph with a 26" and a 28" tires respectively.

Diffferent combos need drastically different gears. My setup last year made peak hp at 5,700rpm, so the 3.42's I was using were fine. This year, peak hp should come in at more like 6,100, but since there will be more hp the gear should still be about right. So, the correct gear is a function of both hp and rpm.

Ok thanks for the information. So do you want to be at peak hp when you go through the traps so you gear it for where ever the peak hp is made.
