What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
Re: What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
Why a March alt. pulley and not just use the ASP pulley that you can buy with the crank pulley as a set? Also where do you buy the belts for these things?

You don't have to, it just a heads up they it will work with the set also. If you deicde you want to buy the single underdrive pulley now, and not wait 2-3 weeks for the complete set. You can get the belts at any auto store.

O ok i gotcha. The complete set is on backorder not just the crank pulley itself. Where can I purchase the March pulley? Also what kind of problems can i run into just running the stock alt. pulley and it not being underdrive? Thanks. -Matt
Re: What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
Well in my opinion I'd get everything from ASP if possible. There are several reasons for this. One: you'll know exactly what RPM is needed to compensate lower voltage. Two: You'll know exactly what length, brand, model belt to get. So you wont be trying, returning, buying, wasting time and money. Three, if anything happens to the crank pulley, alt pulley, or any other part, you can go straight to ASP, where if you have one of each, each manufacturer could easily blame the problem on the other pulley maker. Stick to things in a set, personally I'd do just the crank pulley first. Then if you think you want the underdrive or overdrive alt pulley you can get that from ASP. They do sell them seperate from my understanding. I think youll just have less overall hassle and problems getting everything from ASP. But yes, the march stuff could probably be used with ASP stuff, I just wouldnt go that route.
Call ASP directly, they will have them in stock before LMP will.
You shouldnt run into any problems with the ASP crank pulley and the stock ALT pulley, this is actually what I would recommend you do first. Messing with the ALT sometimes causes problems. Just make sure you know if your ordering an underdrive ALT or overdrive ALT.

Re: What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
I have the 23% crank and 15% alt on my TA and it takes some getting use to. Especially at night in the summer with the AC on in heavy stop and go traffic. The alt's volt output gets low but you get use to it.

Re: What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
I am trying to decide if I should go with this ASP crank pulley or not while my motor is all apart. I am thinking the crank pulley is a good idea. Whats the advantages with getting the alternator pulley anyway over stock? It may give me a few more horses? If it may give me a few more horses but I may run into some charging problems then its really not worth it. Plus that part is on backorder anyway. What should i do?

Re: What ASP pulley? 23% or 34%?
I had the add on asp set on my old 97 ta ws6. I thought it might have added some harshness or vibration. This time for my 96z28 vert went with an asp balancer replacement .It took awhile to get but found one used on the board.
I got the overdrive alt with it. I installed the balancer first and didn't like how low my volts got so went to overdrive alt. I installed the recommended gates belt for this combo and had slipping belt and squealing problems. I went to a smaller than recommended by asp goodyear gatorback and its working fine.
it ends in 600 even. The recommended gatorback belt for just the balancer without the overdrive or underdrive from asp was fine and worked ok.
The car charges better now but I do have a bit higher than stock idle currently possibly due to a bit high tps on my new 58 BBK TB. I need to slot it out a bit more and see if it drops down. Not a big deal prefer an idle around 800 to 900 or so.
The asp qualty is very very good, I also bought an asp underdrive balancer for my ls1.
Not sure how much it actually helps on the lt1 cars. I did think it did rev a bit faster but that might be imagination.
