wet road issues?
wet road issues?
Does anybody else have light issues with wet roads? Drove the car home tonight and was following my sister in a down pour. After 15 minutes the car developed a very light skip. Once we drove out of the storm it cleared up instantly. Just wondering if this is normal?
Re: wet road issues?
I was just wondering if other people had the same issues. I wish i had went with a higher stall also seems like i lost a bunch of low end with my xfi 280 cam. Honestly i don't even notice a difference with the 3000 stall.
Re: wet road issues?
When my maf gets wet it causes that problem. The opti should be fine, unless you hit some big puddles. I always drive carefully in the rain and try to avoid the splashing water.
Re: wet road issues?
I want to do the stall next and figure it ain't worth going under a 3600 with my mods. You sound like you have the same problem. What brand did you go with? I hear the cheaper ones are not really the same rating as say a Yank. Basically a 2800 Vigilante is what most cheaper brands 3200 are. I called and gave them my mods and they told me exactly what I should run on my car.

Re: wet road issues?
Its a hughes 3000 stall wit lockup. Cost me 500. Im gonna get one from performabuilt when i can afford the new transmission. Then im swaping a ford8.8 rear and stage 2 tranny all at once
Re: wet road issues?
If u ever get a chance mint try a set of nitto nt05 dr's. They have unbelievable traction for a street tire. High performance chevy did a shootout with those and mt et streets. The mt's were 305/315 i believe and the nittos we're 275's. Best times on that lsx camaro were with the nittos i believe it was 1-2/10 of a second.
Re: wet road issues?
Humidity/high moisture content promotes arcing on the high voltage wires and components. Sounds like you may still be having trouble with the high voltage side of your ignition system. Driving in the rain should not affect the way the engine runs.... not even cause "a very light skip (miss??)".
Running the engine in the dark, lightly spray (mist) the high voltage components with water, and see if you get some arcing that wasn't there without the LIGHT mist spray.
