Angry A wet dog in my car?

Hey guys sorry for the "not so technical" post but see if you can help me out here. A couple weeks ago my carpet got wet in the back drivers side floorboard and under the seat. I dried it up, I've cleaned it with numerous wally-world foam carpet cleaners, febreezed it, left it air out etc.. but my car still has a wonderful wet dog smell. Any idea how to get this out?
Thanks for any input

There's something wrong with wet dog smell?

It keeps cats away.

You may want to try shampooing your carpets. This would probably get rid of it for sure. Just make sure you get it nice and dry afterwards.

I had that problem many times in my 97 convertible. The best way I got rid of it was to give the area as much air as possible for a day and let the air circulate. I'd just move the seat all the way foreward, tip it and then put my windows down and let it sit in my driveway. It aired out every time. If I couldn't let it sit for that long, I'd just spray something back there to cover it up.

This happened in my wife's Neon, we had to remove the carpet, shampoo it and let it fully air dry before putting it back in the car.
