Check with Scoggins-Dickey. They *used to* have a 383 shortblock with all the heavy duty innards AND you had a choice of normal compression ratio or dished for your blower requirements.

What's up GEE, this is James, we met on the camaro firebird vs. mustang challenge, I have the red ta. I see your looking into getting a 383. How much did Cartek want for a 383 shortblock? Scoggin Dickey sells it for 4285, they only list for 10.8 or 11.8 comp ratios. I'm sure they can accomodate you with what you need if you give them a call. I know their assembly has lunati components. Also, you might want to give nu-tek motorsports, combination motorsports or baur racing engines a call. Baur racing and combo are our sponsers and you can see nutek at www.nu-tekmotorsports.com Hope this helps a bit, later.

I say just buy the kit. Here is the one I am going with ( http://www.excessivemotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=301 ) and total price using my block is going to be around $1,600. It comes with Nodular Steel 383 Crankshaft, Lightweight SIR 5140 Forged I-Beam Rods, JE/SRP Forged Aluminum Pistons, JE Hyfire Rings (file-fit), Clevlite Rod Bearings, Clevlite Main Bearings. Or for $600 more you can get the stage 2 kit.

Yeah, I'm going. I'm not sure if I'll run though. If it's 90 degrees, I probably won't run, we'll see. I'll see you down there, later.

Suncoast Ta Don't buy from excessive motorsports THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!

Look what they have done to some mustang folks!!!

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=115796

I have not bought from them but if even half of this thread is true I would not send them a dime!!! I would go with one of the sponsors of camaroz28.com combination motorsports is an awesome company to deal with.
