well i made it up to the drag strip yesterday. my 2nd time there ever and with a few more mods than the last time.
last time i had.
factory everything except:
1. lowering springs
2. flomaster muffler
3. !cags
4. kumho tires with 17x9.5's (not good for racing)
My best was a 14.7 at 93mph
This time i had:
1. JetHot longtubes
2. 4" off-road mufflex y-pipe (no cats)
3. 3" flomaster exhaust
4. 8mm taylor spyro pros (1 stock wire) burnt 1 earlier
5. !CAGS, !AIR, !EGR, !CATS, TB Bypass...
6. T-Byrne ported MAF ends.
7. Same crappy tires. with 17x9.5's
My best was a 13.953 at 100.56 mph i only ran 2 times, so i probibly could have bettered my time.
what should i be running???
if i get a OBD1 with programming, LCA's and relocation brackets, some drag radials, under drive pulleys, 1.6RR. 5.0 shifter?
what should i be running? maybe a small shot of NOS
thanks guys

its only 4" at the collector into the exhaust. i have the reducer on it. the MAF gave a little bit more kick after i got it on. i got it used. anything aftermarket or bigger is better for me.

yeah i think maybe you should tune it. Maybe you are running rich or something. Are you sure the wire is still not being burnt like an arch or something? you should be low to mid thirteens at like 105 ish with that set up. I went 13.6 at 105 with intake, a s & m headers, and a cutout.

my car when i got it was almost stock and my times sucked
i think with what i have done and what i gained was pretty good but it should be better. I'm going to trade in my OBD2 for an OBD1 with tuning. will they tune it the best possible way? after i get the new PCM and some DR's, i might go with a 75 shot of No2, i dont want more than that. what should i do about my suspention? get LCA's and relocation brackets? what exactly do they do? what brand?

Yea, something is definetly wrong. I have the same mods and my times are in my sig. For one switch that Flowmaster out with a Dynomax ultraflow muffler. It will have a deeper sound with the dynomax, be smoother sounding and gain you probably .1 and 1mph. You got headers yet chokin it up with that Flowmaster. Imagine this. Hold a flowmaster muffler where the holes for the inlet and outlet are up and down. Now if you had a straight through Ultraflow muffler (which is just straight through pipe with a muffler around it to quietin it) hold it the same way. Poor water in each (not really but imagine) and see where the water comes out first. Definetly gonna be the Dynomax ultraflow because that flowmaster has all the walls and shapes to go through. Only way your gonna get gains with a Flowmaster is if it were a 4in system. And even then I would still change the muffler. Flowmasters sound great but they dont flow.
thanks for the info, i like dynomax better myself. i had it on my 95 mustang GT Convt and on my 92 camaro 3.1L. made both of them sound sweet.
i have some 3" piping with bullet race mufflers i need to get rid of. i had it on my car and it exit's out the side. its a homemade pipe, and it sounds badass. just not good for lowered cars or looks, just performance.
any1 interested in it i have pics in my sig. I'll sell it all for cheap. some of the pipe is junk and i've scrapped the mufflers on the ground.
how do i get rid of knock retard??

I wouldn't say that your times are way off......I think you are about right....with stock gears and really only LT's I think that your car is about right on....There is a lot of factors that you have to consider when comparing to other cars in other states....like weather, alt., race weight, etc etc....My car ran 13.9's @101 with just LT's and with a 2.1-2.2 60'.......

It's been shown before that ported maf's don't really help out unless it's a high hp motor, and that if you do insist on getting one, tuning is a must.
As it sits, if you can get a good launch, you should be mid-low 13's.
The exhaust sounds too big to me. Don't think it's pushing enough for a 4" y pipe into 3" muffler. I would either invest in used stuff like CAI, Z06 MAF, 1LE elbow, 52mm TB, etc. I'd change that exhaust setup too.
