went to drag strip
went to drag strip
so i went to the drag strip for the first time ever and ran a 14.1@100 but in third gear around 4800 to 5000rpms it feels like the power surges a little what could that be from? thanks.
scan the computer. if you can get to a dyno you may find out whats going on. Typically 2-3 pulls are between $75 and 125. So that would be much cheaper than just starting to replace parts. I would at least change the plugs, fuel filter, clean you air filter.
Do it break up at that rpm in every gear or just third?
Give more info

At 130k doing an opti, coil, plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter,02 sensors.. is not throwing parts at it...it maintaining the car. Even if the above things are not "problems" they are way past their NORMAL life span.
Go ahead and give the car a full tune up and see how she feels after.
If you still have problems then you can start lookink at other stuff.

I can see replacing plugs, wires, filters, etc. But dropping $500 on a new opti and new o2 sensors when you don't know if that's the problem or not seems a little over the top. Some people don't exactly have that kind of money to throw around. "Routine maintenance" or not, I don't think high end components are included in a run-of-the-mill tune up.
Your best option, in my opinion, would be to get new plugs and wires and go from there. Get someone with a fuel pressure tester and see if you're putting out adequate pressure. If problems persist, move up the electrical component line and replace the opti if need be.
Another suggestion is to get a $100 ALDL cable and some free software and data log your car to see exactly what's going on.
