Well on to the next prob. Codes 16,36,42
Man when I thought I had it fixed, dies on me 10-15 miles up the road. New optical part of the opti, new coil, has fuel pressure, and fires up and runs while cool.
How it started on the way back from the track, it dies. Ok so I haul her home no spark to the plug, but I have spark to the opti. So i replace the optical section still nothing. I then replaced the coil, fires up. I was like hell ya its fixed, wrong warmed up and died.
So when it died this time it set a code, I went to the shop got the scanner and pulled these three codes. I know 16 and 36 is opti related high and low res, but 42 I have no clue.
Im gonna pull the harness off the vert tommorow and try it and see if it fixes it. Anything else I need to try?
Another thing I ran out of gas at the track and was forced to run leaded, would it have killed my o2's, that fast? If so can i just use some carb cleaner and clean them good?

DTC 16 and 36 tell you the Opti optical sensor pulse patterns are being lost. That could be the result of faulty harness connectors. Check both of them for corrosion or damage.... the one directly on the body of the Opti and the gray one on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold.
DTC 42 is technically "Ignition Control (IC) circuit (shorted or grounded circuit)".... use Shoebox's online, LT1-specific list for code lookup:
http://shbox.com/1/Dtcs.htm
Unfortunately DTC 42 is a very complex one to diagnose because it relates to the Opti, the IC Module and a lot of wiring, and can even be the result of a faulty PCM. There's a detailed diagnostic chart in the factory manual that cna be helpful in sorting out the problems. You might also want to look for problems with the electrical ground strap at the front of the engine near the coil.
A one time use of leaded fuel will not kill the O2 sensors... they are rated for 50 hours exposure to lead. "Leaded" gasoline in the past had TEL levels of 1.0-3.0 grams per gallon. I run VP Fuels C16 with 6 grams per gallon, and the stock O2 sensors (which are only there to plug the holes in the exhaust) are still working. And its a non-issue, since the codes are not in any way related to faulty O2 sensors. They are all ignition related codes.

Update:
My car is wierd. This morning I got up cleared the codes, set in the driveway idling/revving for 15 mins. I then proceeded to drive it around the block a few times for another 30 mins. It didnt throw any codes, o2's looked good. timing looked good and the car ran great. So then I grew some ***** and started driving it. 2 hours and prolly 60 miles later still no problems, no codes ect.
Reckon all the codes that were set the night of the incident was causing all my problems? I cant see how yesterday it shut down in maby 10 miles then today I got nothing. The only thing I did was cleared the codes. This is weird. I was waiting for it to break down so I could moniter on the scanner what happened and got nothing.
