Just got the Cam install and got it started a 3 or 4 days ago...

Everything was going fine... Had my 1.6 roller rockers adjusted today Really smoothed out the idle... I was pumped I had a couple more things to do and It was ready to start Driving.

Put the Valve covers on. which means the altrenator is in the way.. Burp the and add more coolant... and change the oil..

Well I put the Key In and Turned It Nothing... Security Bull**** (it was doing this to me last year)

Waited for it to turn off It Fired up.. I had the radiator cap off and It was blowing coolant all over for a second I filled It and started to pop... (the Exhaust) Then It started to backfire like a 12 gauge going off.. Then It started running like ****.. wanting to Die.. I got In gave It some gas no response except a backfire hear and there.. I seen some smoke comming from down by the opti But It might of been coolant that burnt off the block...


Anyway on top of this Ever since the end of last year.. When Id shut the car off.. Every now and then It would keep running for a little bit and then shut off.. Same this year except It did It every time... Did the opti Finally take a crap?

 

Have you had your car tuned for the cam?
Some of your problems could be from that, or your opti could of gotten wet and might of crapped out on you like you suspected

 

The car ran good untill Either The serpelt ate a plugwire or or the opti Took a dump.... F-ing LT1's If It was the opti.. This will be lucky number 5 on how many times the water pump has been off since the cam install

Think maybe the timing chain skipped a tooth (thats just my luck)

 

could be ur timing like u said about ur chain skipping b/c of broken tooth

my bud had an amc eagle his timing was off that it would make his car soo hot that when he turned the car off it would keep running b/c the fuel was being ignited by pure compression and no spark....check ur timing
