Please, if you are going to do this, get a dry type fire extinguisher, the ones for electrical fires. It is unlikely you would actually start a fire, but if you do, you are not going to blow it out, or put it out with water. You have heard of "Greek Fire" before, right?

Why not just punch a hole and tap it for threads like Vortech does with their drains?

Well, the oil pan will light on fire from a slight spark and blowing it out wont do it!!! .

Can't you weld the bung then drain the oil and pucnh the whole afterwards? Be a whole lot easier than the other way around.

Am I missing something? So have you done it yet and how did it turn out? I'll be doing mine this wkend.

Ive heard from a welder youc an weld on a gas tank with gas in it still, hold on before everyone gets all crazy with me. Supposedly if you run a hose into an exaust pipe and the other end into the gas tank, itll effectively remove the oxygen in the tank and replace it with exaust that is oxygen depleted. No oxygen no BOOM. I owuldnt try it, ut its something ive heard. ANy comments from the penut gallery???
