welding ceramic coated pipe
welding ceramic coated pipe
after so many hits on the darn mile high speed bumps
at the store, my Y-pipe has come loose at the collector end near the cat and is causeing a horible leak. but I dont think that a ceramic coated pipe can be welded, the coated must be removed? am I better off buying a stainless pipe, or fixing what I got? also, all my exhaust is currently bolted, welding everything should do away with leaks except those that can occure when a header bolt comes loose, like the other day
thanks.

I know ceramic coated pipe can be welded without removeing the coating. The only problem is that the weld will rust somewhat. I would say have it welded. It's the cheapest and one of the best ways to fix it.
