Weird starting problem

On the Z28 I just bought, when i turn the key the engine rolls over, and over and over and over, and most of the time won't fire, until I stop, and try again, and it fires right up. Anyone have any ideas? I thought maybe opti but what I don't understand is why if I try a second time to start it, it fires in a snap, no matter how long I tried it the first time. It runs fine after start up, and doesn't seem to matter if it's hot or cold. ?????

Re: Weird starting problem

Third vote for fuel pressure. I actually made a diagnostics page on my website in my sig. Hardstarting is the first one I just did, maybe it can help you out.

Re: Weird starting problem

More than likely his pressure, once it comes up, will be fine. He probably has a problem with the check ball in the fuel pump allowing the fuel to drain away from the fuel rails.
