weird SES light

When I was at the track the other night, Once i crossed the line in 4th gear with my foot to the floor the SES light came on, and then went off when I turned off of the track. It did this two or three times. The light never stayed on for more than 30 seconds probably.
Any ideas on what it could be?

Once the SES light came on, a DTC code was stored in the ECM. Since you have a 1993, you can retrieve the code by shorting the ALDL pins and flashing the code on the SES light.

As usual, Shoebox has the procedure on his website:

So it would still be stored even though the light doesn't come on anymore, and since we went to the track a week or two ago?

Yes, as long as battery power wasn't removed from the PCM after you got the SES light.

It doesn't stay stored "forever".... it will self clear a stored code after a specific number of "drive cycles" have been experienced without the same problem coming back. It might have cleared if its been "weeks". When you initially posted, you indicated "the other night"..... not two weeks.

We went June 30th, but it hasn't been driven but maybe 3 times since then, due to a brake problem and a muffler problem.

Sorry, "the other night" with me, means "I don't think it was yesterday, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the days before that"
