At idle my car has a weird sound coming from the optispark (no belt and i was listening with a long screw driver :P so i am 100% sure its the opti) The sound is almost like a whine and is gone as soon as i rev up the engine past 1k. Any ideas what it might be?

It could be that you just cannot hear it after the revs get higher. I guess possibilities are cam dowel too long or there might be a screw loose inside that is rubbing. There have been reports of some new optis that had screws that were not tight.

 

hmm...dowel pin was exactly same as the old cam so that cant be it
