My door handle was squeaking for about a month and suddenly it stopped working. You'd pull it up, door wouldn't open and it is unlocked. Suddenly last night it started working again (???). Very odd. Anyone else encounter this problem? Is still squeaks and has some resistence when pulling the handle up so I want to nip this problem in the butt. Any advice?

 

To nip this problem in the "Bud" you will have to take your door panel off. This requires you remove the mirror inner trim, the controls for the windows and the arm rest. Then lift the panel up slightly and then out from the door.

Once off, you can see the door latch mechanism and see why it's not grabing or "slipping" which ever the case.
