Just curious. How do you gain by removing the T-Tops? Wouldn't you lose by screwing up the airflow?

I'm talking in terms of AutoX, where you don't get up to a high enough speed for aerodynamics to come into play.

Bubba, I wasn't talking about removing the t-tops, I don't have t-tops and simply wondered what the weight diff is. I assume hardtop (no t-tops) is just as aerodynamic...

wait a minute....if you wighed the ttops and they come out to be 12 pounds each, that doesnt necesarly meen it is 25 pounds heavier than the hard tops, because you are weing it against a car that has a hard top , not a car with no top,so i bet the hard top wiehs about 12 pounds thus ttops being 12 pounds heavier....damn it all makes sense in my mind but its hard to explain...you guys follow me??

Lexan does NOT work well for a street car, as it scratches very easily...

I'm sorry, I should have clarified my statement. I wasn't concluding that a t-top car would weigh 25lbs more than I hard-top car, just that the total weight of 2 t-tops comes to about 25lbs. We follow.

What about with the addition of some dsort of coating? I've seen some around for lexan. The units Jegs sells claim to be scratch-resistant.

I'll add a little opinion here

I just did a t-top conversion. The center section of the pillars that is removed when doing a t-top conversion are pretty beefy. They have to weight 10lbs a piece! Believe it or not they are alot heavier than one would think. I'll see if I can find one to weigh...

Ok, just weighed they were about 10lbs total... add all the metal trimming I did and it'll probly total to 2 lbs
