There was another post here somewhere asking the same question. Try to do a search and see if you can find it. Basically, there seems to be no difference.

Ahhh, yes!! 12lbs. Ponykilla is the winner!!!

I think LT1ponykilla was talking about the t-tops themselves. So , if you took the t-tops off a car equipt with them, you'd lose 12 pounds.

This might help. Scroll to the bottom. And I believe it's 12 lbs difference b/t a coupe and T-top car, not 12 lbs for the tops themselves.

Well, this thread got me curious, so I weighed one of my t-tops. 12.88lbs. This is for 1 t-top, not both. Gees, 25lbs. I wonder how that'd feel in AutoX since I have subframe connectors?

There not as heavy as you would think. Now if there was someway to get rid of the back windshield that would lose some serious weight.

Hey, 25lbs is nothing to sneeze at. As for the rear window, go Lexan. This'll save you a few pounds. A racer on our local list has both front, and rear Lexan replacements for the glass.

Lexan is a type of polycorbonate (I think) plastic. It's a little more flexable than standard glass. I belive they also use it alot for SPL competition vehicles because it doesn't shatter like glass.
I'll post a link to someone who sells lexan glass for 4th gens.

Is it clear and can it be used for daily driving or for race cars only?

It's clear. It's what all the proffesional Pro-stock, Funny Car, etc cars use.
It can definitely be used for daily driving, but I'm not sure if it's street-legal (like a cop is going to check to see if your windshield is glass, anyway).

I've heard you can save 64 pounds by replacing the front and rear windshield. And you are correct, lexan is polycarbonate.
