My opti expierience

Well I worked on it from 9am till 8pm taking a break for lunch and dinner. Got the new one on, now I have to put the pully, waterpump, fans, and radiator back in. It was a pita getting the pully off. Mine is rusted onto the yoke so we just pulled the whole thing. It goes on hard and comes off hard. I broke the bolt off in the crank trying to put it back on. We got that out and got a new bolt. Should be able to finish it up wednesday. It started right up, that was the fastest its ever started. I replaced the coil too. I'm also changing my rotors and pads on the front. The rotors look horrible. I need to change the tranny fluid and filter too, but I'll wait awhile.

How slow was yours to start, mine is kinda sluggish and I was wondering what might cause it? Although I haven't checked the fuel filter, and I'm not sure if the opti has ever been changed.

I wouldn't worry about it until you have to

Mine used to take about 5 secs of cranking to start. More if its been sitting. Now after sitting it fired right up with a new opti and coil. For all the work it is though, I would wait till it didnt start to change it again. Thats what mine was doing. It started when it wanted to.

Well I finished it up today. Runs better than ever! It stops better too. My rotors were toast. It didnt grind so I never really looked at them. Whoever had the car knew someone that just kept turning then even though they were way too thin. HUGE improvement
