Weatherstripping help please...

The dealer wants to charge me $300 for weatherstripping on my driver and passenger-side windows, and I don't have enough money to do that.

They say it's all one peice but I was trying to see if there was anyway to just get the top part (where the water comes in) for cheaper somewhere else.

Anybody have any advice/suggestions at all? Appreciate the help guys

if the reason your changing it out is because you have ttops and the window is leaking you should consider changing your mind.from my experience and from the experience of many others, the leak will always be there no matter how many times you change it or how new the weatherstripping is.

But it's not the t-tops that are leaking is what I was shown. I can even tell by looking at it that the window and the rubber barely meet, which is the reason for the leak.

There is a metal ridge the weather stripping runs along. You may be able to bend the metal ridge towards the point of contact with the window to reduce or even elimiate the leak. I'm not sure if this is the "right" way to deal with it but it worked for me

You might want to get a free JCWhitney catalog... they have a lot of different weatherstripping in there that may match... and it will NOT cost you the premium the dealer charges...

Good luck with that!
