Do you have weatherstripping all the way around your rear glass?
Do you have weatherstripping all the way around your rear glass?
Hey guys.
After inspecting my car after I got it back from teh body shop a few weeks ago, I noticed my rear hatch was misalgined. No biggy, me and my dad just loosened the bolts and slid it back inline than bolted it back tight.
To make sure it was strait, the next time I was in a parkinglot I looked at another F-body's hatch alingment and noticed that it had weatherstripping that wetn all the way around the rear glass. My car just has it along the bottom. I went to a car show last weekend and noticed that everycar F-body there (all LS1s for the most part) had the weatherstripping all they way around the rear glass too. Then today when I parked the car at school, I noticed that the car beside me, a V6 of the LT1 bodystyle just had weather stripping along the bottom of the window like I do.
My question is, what is correct? I bought my car used so possibly the weatherstripping could have been torn and the previous owner removed it around the rest of the rear glass. Am I supposed to have weatherstripping the whole way around or not? My car is a '95 Z28.
I decided to post this here as well as the LT1 section to see if it was just a LS1 bodystyle thing. Could you guys please post the year of your car adn if you have weatherstripping the whole way around or not? If theres advantages to having it there, I may go dish out the money to keep my car from leaking. It also looks a bit better, filling in the gap.
Thanks

My 95 TA only had the weatherstripping at the bottom of the glass, but I bought that car used. I always thought it looked tacky.
I bought my 98 Z28 new and it has stripping all around the rear window.

They all come from the factory, (supposed to come) with stripping all the way around the glass. Firebirds (all models 4th gen) have a small peice in the middle of the upper and lower trim. Camaros do not have the peice and the top is usually removed.
