Well, I live right down the road from summit, and I have come to the understanding that there are a select few from their store in Ohio that know anything. They sold me the wrong plugs for my car, and now I try not to deal with them. Other LT1 guys from my area also avoid them, but know a few techs and are the only ones the talk to when there.

As long as you know what you want, their online ordering system isn't bad. And they generally ship pretty fast, although their handling fees can be a bit rediculous sometimes. I usually buy most of my parts from my friend, he runs a parts shop so he generally hooks me up pretty well. I just picked up my new C5 rotors from him the other day. I saved about $80 bucks total on those.

Yea dont go in asking for their recommendation on a part, cause one of their part books were outdated and I got the wrong part. Then they refused to take it back since I had already installed it

Yes electric pump work fine when they work. Like I said, I don't want to worry about sudden loss of cooling, possible blown head gaskets and warped heads for a couple horsepower that I don't need. If it was a track and limited street use car, I could see it. Otherwise, I don't. You wanted my opinion and I gave it.

I appriciate the opinion of a well trusted veteran, and the water pump decision is still up in the air. With my pump having 37k on it, and I want to be safe with a new opti, I'll for sure be replacing it. Thank you, everyone for their responses.

Would an inline LED warning light provide some decent warning? I pay alot of attention to my intrustment cluster so if the temp ever rises I know and I always check it out ASAP.
