Water pump oil cooler line...can I plug it?
Can I plug the oil cooler line that comes from the LT1 water pump? I don't want to plumb this so is it ok to block off the exit pipe? Would it increase pressure too much in other parts of the system to a point that it may cause failure(like in the water pump's normal outlet radiator hose)?
thanks

And those rubber plugs they sell at the auto parts stores don't last to long.
The easiest thing to do is run the hose from the radiator to the water pump.

Can I run the oil cooler hose from the water pump and T it into the main water pump radiator return line that is just above it? That will be fairly easy.
I can then use just about any good radiator...not restricted to LT1 radiator.

I plugged both ends on mine. We went plug happy and plugged both ends of the oil cooler line since my '95 engine swap did not have an oil cooler, and then we plugged every coolant line going into the throttle body.

just run a hose to the radiator... I take it your using an aftermarket radiator without the nipple for it tho?
knock the tube out, then tap the hole with a pipe thread tap of the correct size and get a screw in pipe plug. no leaks, no rubber caps to rot out etc. it may take an hour but it well worth it IMO to avoid the caps busting or something.
