just got my summit electric water pump and double roller chain, what did you guys use to block the hole in the timing cover for the water pump drive? I got a freeze plug size1 1/4 that is pretty thin,but looks a little big. what did you find to install and location you found it?

When I installed the ewp i just took the coupler off and left the thing sticking out of the timing cover. I didn't think it was worth removing the timing cover to plug it when it didn't hurt anything with it still there. But when I put my 383 in i got a freeze plug that fit best and JB welded it into place.

 

That's what I did as well.

i am tocking about the timing case cover hole . i tried 1 1/4 is a little to big and 30 m to smal.l this is all i coud find . in parts stors

 

a quarter and some quick steel will do the trick.
