A lot of people on this board don't recommend putting high temp RTV on your water pump bolts. Can I use liquid teflon instead? Liquid teflon is going on my head bolts, so I don't see why it won't work on my waterpump bolts?

Thread sealant just like you use on the head bolts is fine.

 

People on these boards are OBSESSED with RTV

I'm going to use the liquid teflon, thats what the machine shop told me to use on the head bolts.

I think why people are so obsessed with RTV is it smells so good.
