Question Wacky Opti Spark System Issue

Hey everybody! I recently purchased a 94' Z28 with only 82,000+ original miles and garage kept. Unfortunately, I had a radiator problem, being a do it yourselfer because it's cheaper. The weather was fair 76 - mid 80's, excellent for Florida in the late Fall, I did a replacement and OMG got my opti spark system wet, not soaking but from what I'm told it doesn't take much. Well when I conducted my test drive, things were very noticeably different. No power, rough idle and the like. Due to time limitions I left the matter alone until today, temperater cooler 60 degrees, I started the vehicle just to keep fluids flowing and it seemed better. Test drove once again it was like a rocket!

Question, if my problem truely is my opti, will the issues return during higher weather temperatures

It will probably be ok until the next time it gets wet. You might start saving your spare $$ for when it is time for a new opti.

Talking Counting my pennies as we speak

Hey shoebox! Thank you much. Chances of that happening to me twice are slim to none. I have learned my lesson.

Not that you will get it wet again, but since it got wet once, the little metal disk in there will start to rust, the bearing will also rust and eventually, it will just die. I'd say as soon as it starts acting up, replace it. Beats being stranded 2:00 AM for from home (trust me I know this)

not just rust but the antifreeze has now dried up in there leaving deposits of dried up antifreeze. It may cause miss fire here and there. dont worry about it untill it missfires or starts backfiring in the intake.
