coolant problem

When my engine gets hot after driving for a while or on a hot day there is some steam from burning coolant on the left side of the radiator (right next to my battery). When I put my hand down there to see how bad it is, I only get a small amount of coolant on my fingers.

When I look @ the radiator cap I see a line of dried coolant going to the spot where the steam is coming from.

Is the problem the radiator cap and how much do the cost?

i forgot to add. if it was a bad radiator. would it be leaking anyways(ex: stored for winter).

it doesn't leak when it's hot. i feel small amounts of fluid on the side, but it doesn't leak on the floor, pavment, or whatever. i also checked to see if it was leaking on anything with a flashlight and i found nothing.

i am guessing a bad rad cap, but i don't know.
