Mine is nearing the red checkered zone....is this the alternator or the battery....both were already checked a couple weeks ago....

maybe the guage on your dash is reading wrong?? put a DMM across the batt and see what the alternator is putting to it and if it matches what is on the guage?

You should get 12v or so with engine off. When running, it should be over 13v.

the guage on the dash isn't worth anything...

mine when checked with a proper tool will sometimes show 12v and the thing is way up past the middle, and it can also show 12v and its sitting there right on the edge of red. i've also had it be over 13v and be sitting at red... its almost worthless.

Mine is pretty accurate also, I had it checked, my alternator isn't putting out the volts it needs to, only about 11-12 instead of 13-14
