Re: Video: Heads/Cam idle/rev

You need to dyno it ... and for sure do one with the cut out closed vs open.

Nice video.

Deffinately do that whenever I get a trans back in the car.

Your first post says it is with an open cutout.

Re: Video: Heads/Cam idle/rev

I just wanted a video of it with it closed this time.

And wanted, to show a great comparison, how much the cut out helps in horsepower/torque. So a dyno run with it closed, vs open.

Although, I think this is somewhat biased when compared to a regular exhaust. When the cut out is installed, but closed, it creates a huge turbulance, which, when its closed, will cause it to make slightly less power than it would have prior to the install. Well, depending on the location of it I guess. Tuning the length of the exhaust for the right RPM range can make a noticable difference in power.

Awesome video. Sweet car. Keep us updated and good job with it.

Sounds similar to mine. You should pull off the cover though.

Yes, this video is open cut-out, search for posts by me and you will find another video with this setup and a closed cut-out.

I know what you are talking about, and I will video it whenever it get's on the dyno, and have a comparison open vs. closed. The little bit of turbulance doesn't affect it all that much, I did open vs. closed dyno pulls before the heads/cam and everything, all I saw (if I remember correctly) was a 7rwhp difference.

Thanks for the props, and as soon as I get money saved up for another trans, and get it in the car, I will get the car to a dyno with video footage.

Oh yeah, the car has "projectors" now that I will be changing to HID projectors shortly after the car gets a trans.

I'd keep it covered too if all of that construction was going on around me. Car sounds good.

Those were pictures I took when I took my car to a job site one day, no construction around me.
