very ackward missfire/shake problem..HELP!

So leaving my work the other day i notice my car started to missfire...now i have had it happen before (burned wires) but it was as constant....After driving several times after the initial first time this happend ive noticed it doesnt really happen until my car warms up a bit...The most i can describe it is it feels like it missfires and actually if stomping on the peddle it shakes the whole car like your in 6th gear doing 30 mph or something like that...it's very strange but if you keep messing with it in one of the gears it will straiten out and run ok...Now i have refilled the gas tank so i don't think its bad gas and i have an electric cut out and i have opened that and still the same problem (at first it felt almost like somethin was jammed in the tail pipe it was running so weird)...So i need some help because i don't even know where to start....

btw no codes getting thrown

You'd probably get more responses in the lt1 forum.

If its misfiring, the SES light should be flashing. A scan with a scanner capable of reading "enhanced parameters" can access the individual misfire count by cylinder, telling you if its a problem on one or two specific cylinders, or something affecting all of them.

I'll move this to "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech".

Sounds like a bad wire or two.

Disconnect one of the O2's and see if it stays relatively smooth even after after the SES comes on.

How old are your wires? If they are old and the boots are brittle it'll arc and misfire like crazy.

I had a water pump leaking on my opti after it warmed up and did the miss fire and shaking thing for a while before I figured it out. Check that bottom hole on the pump. And all the hoses, they can do it also.
