You have 2 options. You can have it programed out of the computer by one of the mail order tune places or you can use this write up to do it your self. http://shbox.com/1/vats_bypass.jpg
use this to find the pellet resistance.

There is option 3, Baker electronics on ebay sells a bypass box for 25.00. It is a 3 wire hook up and has not given me any issues. Very simple and took a couple of days to get it.

why spend 25 bucks on the box when you could spend 99 cents on a resistor and just solder it in cover in heatshrink and be done with it. 10 min and 99 cents sounds much better than 25 bucks and a few days.

He does not need that module if it's only his key pellet that is not being read. He needs the resistor bypass. The theft deterrent relay still won't work if he bought that module.

The module bypasses the pellet and the vats module and gives the pcm the signal for fuel enable. I have used them in the past and have never had a prob. The vats in a 97 lt1 is through the BCM and it also gave the signal for fuel enable. There was no way to get the pellet resistance since I had no key and there for used the module.

Im sticking with the resistor and theft deturrent relay bypass. much faster and much cheaper. It takes 2 min to solder the resistor in and 5 min to bypass the relay. the other 3 min are used for drinking beer.

Perhaps that module sends a ground to the TDR, too. It does not really say in their description. I know all about the BCM, fuel enable and such.
