VATS/pass key.. bypass disable???

VATS/pass key.. bypass disable???

does anyone have a link or guide for this.. my sucurity light has been comeing on when I am driving, and I am putting out the passkey II code from the computer and today the car would not start and the security light was on.. had to wait about 5 minutes and the light went off and car started.. I really want to get rid of this PITA..

I don't know if this applies to the fourth gens but on the third gens, take your key with chip and have a OHM meter test the resitance on the chip. Buy a resistor with the closest ohm setting. If you take off the part of the dash under the wheel, there will be 2 wires and at the bottom of the steering column they will go to a black rectangle box thats about half an inch, think the wires were white on mine, just cut them somewhere and solder the resistor to the wires.

Wire 1 ----(====)---- wire 2

Double check on the fourth gens, im pretty sure they changed it.

I recall this covered in some depth rather recently..
Also you don't have to cut the wires[ in caswe you want to restore it later] you can just plug the resistor['s] in the harness..
