VATS: Flashing Security Light/ Wont Start

My security light is flashing as soon as I cut the key on, the fuel pump primes but the car wont turn over. I drove it to work this morning with no problems, cranked right up the first try. The we I tried to leave work this afternoon, it wouldnt crank, and the security light is flashing making me think its the VATS system acting up. I have tried 3 different keys all do the same thing. I have tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer, that didnt work. And I have tried turning it on for 5 seconds then off for 3 seconds and repeat for 3 times(I read that somewhere to reset the vats), and that didnt work either.

Any help is appreciated, my car is currently stuck at work, and I will need it back tonight.

Thanks
Kevin C

EDIT: I just read in another post that you can jump the VATS. Does anyone know how to do this, so I can try it??

If you search "security light" in the general tech forum, you will find many threads on what you can do. There is also info on my Tech Page.

I have looked through both, but cant seem to find this problem. I have had the problem in the past with the light coming on, and I just wait 3 mins and it will start but this time, the light is flashing, and does so every time I turn the key to the on position.

If you looked through them you should have seen that the contacts in the ignition cylinder are either dirty and no longer getting a signal or that the wires in the column are broken

try testing your key like this
then go to radio shack and buy a resister that correlates to the reading you had. Mine read 1.47 on the meter so I bought a 1.5 resistor and it worked just fine. If you need more info look here
