various engine swap issues, need some help

ok, I am trying to figure out a few things. I did a swap in a 95z that i bought with a 1/2 torn down motor that had osme kind of internal issues.

I got a lt1 motor form a 97 capprice and put it in the car. Was having heating problems and fuel issues (too much fuel).....after runign a few tests my mechanic and I have decided its probibly a head gasket issue. So today, I pulled one head off the Capprice and both form the Camaro Motor (was going to swap the iron heads for aluminum ones). I noticed one small difference in the dishes between the two cars. The one form teh camaro is deeper than the ones from the Capprice. My next thought was to check the piston bore. The ones from the camaro vrs the ones form the capprice are quite different. A very noticable difference. Annother thing I noticed is the heads form the capprice were significantly more dirty from running too rich. And the questions I now have are...

is this capprice motor possibly a 305 or smaller and not a 350?
does this capprice motor run different compression?
will I beable to use the aluminum heads on this motor?
If i keep this motor in will i have to buy a new Computer?

andquite a few more questions....i am currently looking these up now, but maybe someone on here has some experience or knowldege and can post up...thanks

if its not a 9c1 caprice chances are its not the 5.7 and its the baby lt1. if its the smaller one you should stick with the heads that came off of it. what injectors are you using? if it is the smaller lt1 then you need to reprogram your pcm, chances are you running a 5.7 tune with the baby lt1. also you may want to try impalassforum.com for info about the smaller lt1.

appriciate the info. Im starting to think maybe i might jsut wanna rebuild the old motor...becase Im going to have to but a head gasket set, computer tune, etc etc and wont be running as a true z28 should, or I can throw in a little bit more labor and maybe 100 or 2 more and have a bit better of a motor...
