Valves questions...help

Valves questions...help

Ok so i was driven my car and my timing chain just snapped..would this cuz my valves to b bent??

Yup, camshaft stops moving which doesn't move your valve train while your rotating assembly is still spinning and eventually the piston collides into your valves that are stuck open.

so is changing the valves hard or is the motor shot??

If it didn't hurt the pistons or the rod bearings it will be OK. The brgs need to be checked and a good look taken of the pistons and replace the valves and pushrods that are bent.

Now if i was to order valves would i order intake or exhaust or both??

Ya need to weight until it is torn down to see what is bent. Ya may not need a full set of each.

how do i go bout checkin if their bent no clue on how to check them is thier a tech page

They will be bent enough ya can see it. On the others get some solvent(mineral spirits) and fill up the ports I&E and see if they leak. This is off the car on the bench.

If you don't already have it torn down, replace the timing chain and do a compression check. That should show you which cylinders have the bent valves.
