Valve Train Organization

I have the motor pulled, and would like to know to keep everything together, if there is a descent way to keel the rocker arms, lifters, and pushrods together while the motor gets rebuils. Just a way to keep them organized. Last time I just kept them on a shelf in the order they came out.

Thanks:

ZMAN

Re: Valve Train Organization

If it was a flat tappet motor you would need to keep the lifters organized, but in this case, you can just throw it all in a box and clean them before install, it doesnt matter if everything goes back in the same place.

Re: Valve Train Organization

I always used a piece of cardboard and punched holes in it for the pushrods and rocker arms in an orientation that was similar to where they are on the motor.
