Valve Springs

I have a stock LT1 that I need to replace the springs on. I have some 1.6 rockers that will go on as well, I do NOT want to do the beehive springs as I will never put a cam in this car. I was looking for LT4 springs....but I dont know where is the best place to locate them....can anyone asist me?

They are a GM performance parts item and they are very cheap (less the 50 bucks). Get them at a GM dealer.

I just picked up $500 in parts from him. Saved me a bunch below list.

Do you think by replacing stock springs with LT4 springs the install height will change?

In my opinion... no. But it is always good to check. Summit Racing has a valve spring height micrometer for about $40. Plus it looks cool. With a stock cam it may be overkill.

But I just picked up a cam... so you'll never know in the future if you upgrade. Bottom line is, you can get a spring micrometer now and use it. Then use it again when you upgrade. So, it is one of those tools that last nearly forever. For $40, why not.

I really dont see the need to do a cam as I have 186k on the engine and I dont really want to do anything internal to it. I drive the car when I am around from Europe. I can use the stock retainers, and locks on those LT4 springs right?

Yes. But, with 186k on your old retainers and locks, you may want to buy new. LT4 springs/locks/retainers can be bought for ~$50.
