Valve Springs

I'm planning on putting the Comp Cams 306 cam, their 1.6 Pro Magnum Rockers, their High Energy Pushrods, and all the seals and all that good stuff....but what valve springs should i use with this set up?

Go to the CC website and look at the cam card specs for that cam. It will tell you the specs of the recommended springs.

Crane 99893 dual valve springs are supposed to be great springs and don't require any seat machining whereas the Comp 987's do...

The 612's are a great single spring, but for a little bit more you can have the peace of mind with Crane 99893 dual springs...

I'd go 612's for the price or 99893's for the strength...

Never mind. I see their Cam Card doesn't show spring pressures.

Comp recommends the #986 or #987 for the 306 series cam. The 986 is 132# @ 1.750" and 280# @ 1.250" with a rate of 296lb/in. The 987 is 121 @ 1.800" and 388 @ 1.200" and a rate of 344lb/in. Any spirng in this range should work fine.
