Valve Spring Retainers

I have to buy new spring retainers and pokets as the springs I picked out are a bigger diameter than the stock ones. I purchased comp cams 987 springs from a gentelman off the forum here.

Does anybody know if somebody besides comp cams makes a non titanium retainer? I'm not too interested in buying titanium as it's expensive and I don't feel it makes that big of a difference. I just want to buy a regular retainer which would be strong enough for a spring like this.

Thanks for the help!

Why not just get the Comp retainers?

They're a $140 off the thunder racing site, and I can find crome aloy steel ones for like $20 for a whole set.

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place, but that's kinda pricey.

Does anybody know what crome aloy ones to get for these springs?

Thanks!

The list price for the CC #740 steel retainer is $66.56 for a set of 16. I am sure you won't need to pay that much. The price you quote appears to be for Ti retainers.

Thanks for the help!.... actually I looked at the comp cams webpage and did a part lookup on the 740 retainers after I saw you message and they said $20 for the set... is this right?

I'm kinda **** about this stuff cause its my first time even taking appart an engine. Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I buy a bunch of parts.

Thanks for your help!
