Valve seal replacement
Valve seal replacement
...background... 95 LT1
How difficult should new it be to push a new valve seal over the top of the guide? Never doing this before I wanna ask before I **** something up.
Removed the old seal, and measured the ID .550, the ID of the brand new seal is .530. Wonder if the difference is in old versus new condition? Is this normal as expected?
Trying to get the new seal over the top of the guide I've used hand pressure, then progressed to using a deep socket over the seal. Using what I consider a pretty firm hits on the seal it still doesn't go.
As usual thanks for the assistance.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I've been able to prove that I have the wrong seals.
It appears I have Compcams PN# 503-16
Doing some more measurements here's the low down.
Valve Stem = .343 = 11/32
Valve Guide OD = .550
Current setup (black rubber color)
Valve seal ID = .553
valve seal OD = .675
Valve seal I'm trying to put on (light blue color)
Valve seal ID = .530
Valve seal OD = .675
It appears I have Comp PN# 503-16, when I actually need 501-16 or 502-16
Thanks again for the help.
