valve lash question
valve lash question on Morel lifters
I know this has been done to death, but my search didn't come up with anybody using my combo.
Preload dimension (in .00X please) for Morel hyd roller lifters.
I'm thinking they should be run on the loose side at .008 preload, or 1/6 turn on a 7/16-20 stud.
Somebody please chime in if I'm wrong, before I put the covers back on!

This is not what you asked for, but since you do not have any replies it may help you make your decision. The plunger travel in a stock LT1 lifter is about .150" and the stock lash is .042". The lash is about 28% of the plunger travel. Measure the plunger travel on your Morels and set your lash to something close to 25% of the travel unless you have something from Morel to back up the minimum lash approach. Lash of .008" is pretty small, just barely more that 1/8 turn with 7/16 studs.
Thanks for the reply. I already found the reason for the tapping, it wasn't a lash issue. #4 exhaust lifter seems to be collapsed.
The adjusting screw could be easily tightened down a few turns using 2 fingers after making contact with the pushrod. I pulled the rocker arm and depressed it with the pushrod using just my pointer finger.
Intake is off, lifter is out, and can be depressed with a pinky finger.
Looks like I have some phone calls to make on Monday.
