valve dimensions

I feel like this is a stupid questions - BUT

is the reference size of the valve the diameter of the bottom of the valve? And if I were to hold the stock valve and an oversized valve butt to butt would I see the difference?

Thanks.

Explain oversized valve.

The numbers that most people post about aftermarket valves are the bowl diameter, I guess that's what it's called. (2.0, 2.01, 1.6)

The stem diameter stays the same. 11/32" IIRC.

Opps - wrong forum...lol - gave you powerstroke valve sizing

Yes - you will visibly see the difference in an oversize valve. The stock valve size is 1.94"/1.50" with 11/32" stem

Thanks. That's what I thought. I was told I had oversized valves. But on pulling the heads and inspecting with stock valves, they were the same diameter.
