vacuum leak, pics

Been hearing a hiss lately while driving, mostly noticeable when accellerating. Never looked into it but a friend stopped by and motivated me to look into it. Well anyway we found one of the hoses from above the coil to be the culprit.
In this pic it is the line with the grey ring on it

This is line unplugged

This is where it is coming from

My car is down on power, could this be the reason?
Anyway with the hose plugged in is when you hear the hiss. When you unplug it, it still hisses, but when you plug the hose it goes away.

Looks to be the vacuum solenoid. I take it that needs replaced? Or can I get away with it being plugged?
Thanks shbox

I believe the solenoid was added to help keep moisture out of the AIR pump. Your choice if you want to use it or not.
